I was recently preparing for a jury trial and found this interesting statistic on the S.C. Department of Public Safety’s website.
Using their latest data of crashes and incidents, they put together different charts. This one I found interesting. Their data also revealed that the #1 contributing factor for collisions resulting in death is not DUI, which one would expect, but Driving too fast for conditions. It accounted for 197 fatal collisions and 11,481 collisions resulting in injuries.
It would be interesting to see how our State compares with the other states. For more check out http://www.scdps.gov/ohsjp/fact%20book/2015%20Fact%20Book.pdf
